Nice morning ....

29th April 2026 (Wednesday)      09.15 ....  We have a "bright, with a light Easterly breeze'

morning";    definitely a 'play day'.    The temperature went down to 2.6C overnight, but is now at 6.8C.  We should have a lovely, warm day;  though there will be a cool onshore breeze on the beach.... and maybe even on the golf course.   Me? ....  I'm feeling almost 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' this morning;  and ready  to'play' with the new Hoover.    I'll have an early morning coffee first.

14.45    I enjoyed using the new Hoover, but, my word, it was hard work!   Then, after I'd finished,  I remembered that  there's a bit you slide to uncover air holes,  to make it easier on deep pile carpets.    Anyway the Hoover sooks brilliantly;  there's stuff in the stoor container.    Which bin does that go in I wonder?

It is a bonnie, sunny day now, and warm sheltered from the chilly breeze;  14.9C on the thermometer.   If it wasn't for the cool breeze I'd go out on the buggy.   Although 'The Buggy's maximum speed is only 7.5 mph, it's cold on the face and neck when I 'floor' the throttle.    I'm going to make an afternoon coffee (having forgotten the morning one) and have a session, with the pencils, in The Hutte.

18.45    We've had 'wall to wall' blue sky all day and it has been warm;  as long as you weren't out in the open:  there was a cool breeze coming in coming off the water., so it would be cool on the beach.   And that breeze kept me around Ivy,.   The East wind we have just now is a good drying wind, so I put out a wee washing.    And it's dry, ready to be ironed after this update.     I only have short clothes lines, hence the frequent half load washes.

I see, on the News,  that we've had another random stabbing, luckily both the men that were attacked, though injured , survived, and are in a stable condition.    I don't understand why there's so much hatred, all around the World.    I haven't time to hate anybody (though I've never forgiven the Chancellor of the Exchequer for taking the £300 off me), I've got too many other things to think about.    All this hatred saddens me!   Surely we humans could think of a better way to resolve differences;  like meaningful  Peace talks.

I've had a reasonably active day.   After the hard work with the Hoover I thought I deserved a nice 'rest

day'.     The word 'Hoover' (actually it's a Vax) , reminds me that I haven't used the attachments.   I had a look at the bit that goes on the end of the hose and immediately thought..."I wonder how that attaches to anything"?    I'll trad the 'rools' tomorrow!

All three photies taken in Ivy garden today.   My word the sun certainly brought out a variety of insects!  The Tulips were wide open in the sun, so I thought I'b best get a photo before the petals fall off.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
