Nice morning ....

1st April 2026 (Wednesday)    10.00 .... after a spell of  early morning sunshine, the sky is clouding

over and we are expected to have a band of rain pass over us in the afternoon.   However the day should end with a nice evening.     At the moment, we   have a quiet morning (apart from vehicles on Ferry road), pleasantly warm, nd although cloudier than earlier we get plenty 'sunny  spells,'  .... and... there's only a light breeze.

I'll miss Carol doing the weather:  she may not always have sunny weather for us, but she always had a smile that brightened even the 'dreichest' of days!  "Enjoy Retirement Carol".

19.00    The rain started at 14.30!   I know this because I was working in 'The Hutte' with my postcards.  That's the sort of job I find relaxing;   and interesting.   I also saw my first Queen Wasp of the year.... outside 'The Hutte'.    She flew off in a Westerly direction.   After the rain came the temperature started to drop;m It's much colder now than it was this morning!

The TV has been interesting  today.   We had Carol retiring, The Prime Minister updating us re the cost of living problems caused by the Israeli/ American, Iran war.   The Artemis rocket is being readied for launch around midnight (our time).

The photograph on the left was taken by 'JB'.   It's the Hungarian Oak tree in Buxted Park near Uckfield, in Sunny Sussex.    It comes up on the Digital Photo Frame I got for my birthday.    The 'Troops' can upload photographs onto it;  all I have to do is browse them!    Browsing? ...I am good at that.   I must look out my photographs of the Hungarian Oak;  I took it from all angles.   Uckfield is a great place for walks;  the town is encircled by woodland walks.

Tomorrow'w weather looks like being much the same as today's;  but colder, with another band of rain

moving across later in the afternoon.    I have another two empty postcard albums , so I shall work(?) with the postcards.

The photo on the right is another one that 'appeared':  it's an interesting 'photie frame'.    

I'm off to make a cuppa, then find something to watch on the tele.

Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
