Nice morrrrrrrning .....
2nd April 2026 (Thursday) 09.45.... We have a lovely, sunny morning here; but there is a chill
chilly air: luckily there's only a light breeze so hardly any windchill. There was frost on the cars earlier (overnight Low was (- 0.9C), but the sun has shifted that. Actually it will be warm , I used to like going out the bike on a morning like this.... but the roads are too busy for me to go out on the bike at this time now. And, with this being the Easter break the villages will be busy.19.45 I had some glass items to take to Woodhaven re-cycling place; from where I took today's photographs. The top photograph was taken from the Re-Cycling place. The road into Woodhaven amenities (Toilets, Car Parks and Recycling Depot, is in a serious state of neglect. The 'pot holes' were full of water, so there was no clue as to there depth (apart from a mute swan considering having a paddle: that might be 'fake' news; in fact it is 'fake' news .... but it gives you an idea as to how bad the pot holes are!
It has been a sunny day, and not cold; it was 75C in 'The Hutte' when Kirsty and I were in there; that was just too hot! Anyway Kirsty brought birthday present(s), and some post cards; "Thank You" Kirsty.... I'm a happy boy tonight.
After Kirsty went off home, I sorted out the Post Cards (some of them are Cyprus ones). I hen filled another album with the ones I'd sorted out yesterday. I have one empty album left, and will order a few more when I work out how many I need. One album can take 100 postcards if you want to see both sides; or 200 if you just want to see the front of the card. I like to see both sides; because post cards are little pieces of history.
The villages were quiet when I was out (that was in the morning), but I suspect they will be busier tomorrow. This is the Easter Weekend and the start of the Easter school holiday week(s).
I see the price of fuel is going up fast; this always happens with any war in the Middle East; because of the stranglehold Iran has on Strait of Hormuz. The thing is; the Strait was 'open' when Israel and the USA decided to start 'Operation Hellfire' .... oops... 'Operation Epic Fury', while peace talks were ongoing. In fact the Strait of Hormuz was open for a few days after the war started.
The original cause of the Strait being eventually 'closed' , was the attack by Israel and the USA, whichescalated to where we are today. All wars are senseless, and will end with diplomatic discussions (which were taking place when the war started). Mind you it will be a few years before the 'truth' about this war becomes known.
Tomorrow is going to be a 'proper' rest day; sitting in 'The |Hutte' putting postcards into albums.
