Nice morning ....

22nd April 2026 (Wednesday)      09.45 ....  The overnight 'low' on the thermometer was was 3.2C

so we had a chilly stat to the morning.;  it's 9.4C , now with a light breeze.     It will  be cool on the beach.   There's  already heat in the early sunshine, so really warm sheltered from the breeze.   This could the day that I get 'The Buggy' out .... after morning coffee.

12.00    The sun is starting to break through the cloud that has been with us for  most of the morning;   I'm looking forward to a sunny afternoon!    Unfortunately there's a moderate breeze, and, being off the North Sea it's chilly.    I have been 'working';   dinner has been organised for tonight ... the tautties peeled etc.   I'm having 'sausages and mash' (with vegetables), one of my favourites.

19.15    It has been a nice Spring day, albeit a cold one when  out in the open.    However, it was warm enough for me to take The Buggy out, and  have  a turn 'roond The Ferry' ,and up Ferry Road to the Grangehill road entrance.   I had my winter jacket on so was warm enough ;  even up at Chapel Green.   The sky is still that crystal blue colour, and there's a lot of scattered light to give clear, and sharp, photographs. 

The drains are making the noises that indicates a problem with the main drain;  usually at Ferry Corner.   This always happens at Easter when all the houses are occupied;  and will continue through summer..... unless something gives way, and the problem reveals itself.

I've just remembered that I put the buggy battery on charge when I came home;  it should be near enough fully charged by now.   I'll put the kettle 'on', then check.

It's fully charged and ready for action!

22.30    The 'ceasefire' with Iran has been extended, but the 'talks' , between Iran and USA are .... well ... nobody knows what's happening, and when.   Both sides want Peace;  just go for it!    President might just get the Peace Prize yet.

I'm hoping to go to Methil and Leven tomorrow;  haven't been annoying Alice since I caught

this cold.  Iain is coming down this weekend, so I need to tidy up 'The Hutte'.    Actually it isn't untidy;  just has that 'lived in' look!

Today's photies were taken when I was out on 'The Buggy'.    All Earlsferry today.   I took a lot of photographs and will use some more of them tomorrow.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
