Nice morning ....
28th April 2026 (Tuesday) 09.30 ..... We have light cloud just now, but sunny
intervals are forecast for the afternoon. There's a light Easterly breeze, so I imagine it will be cool on the beach. It was 10.8C on the thermometer when I went out 10 minutes ago. Oh.... I don't feel as lethargic as I was yesterday, but I'm not going to over exert myself today! That's another way of saying that this is going to be a 'stay in and stay warm , and lazy, day.'17.00 I went out to The Hutte after lunch to do a few Sudoku's, and have my siesta; actually it wasn't as warm as I thought it would be, because the sun hadn't broken through. I came in and watched the snooker, until the Official Ceremony welcoming the King and Queen to the USA. That went well, and President Trump's speech was just the right length... with some humour in it. Totally different from the stuff he does in the Oval Office!
22.00 The King's speech to Congress was well written, well given, and seemed to be well received. The speech covered a wide range of subjects and was delivered with humour and a well researched knowledge of the history of the two Nations. and of the problems facing us 'today'. The speech did much to boost the Special Relationship between our two countries; a relationship that has been 'strained' for the past few months.
It's cold tonight (I've been out at the bucket), and we could have a chilly start to the morning. I have no
'plan' for tomorrow, but I am feeling 'positive' and think I might even be 'playful' tomorrow. It will be another rest day, but I might play with the new Hoover at some point!Monday (4th May) is the May Day Bank Holiday, so we have a long weekend. That means the villages will be busy, especially if the weather is fine. Must remember to stock up with rations for the weekend!
