Nice morning ....

15th April 2026 (Wednesday)     09.45 .... We've had  a fair amount of rain overnight, but the  rain

has moved away and the sky is showing signs of breaking;  to give us sunny spells with the chance of showers later.    Another band of rain is due late in the afternoon.   Ferry Road has been quiet this morning!.... no joggers!   

18.30    I've had a good, and busy, day:  I woke up  feeling 'bright eyed and bushy tailed';  and even better after the shower.

I decided to have a small adventure, and go to 'The Store' and have a browse up and sown the aisles.    It was a good time to go shopping because 'The Store' was quiet;  as the roads had been on the way along.  As usual nowadays I didn't meet anyone I knew;  but spoke to a few folk.     Most of the folk I talked too seemed to be holidaymakers, going by their voices.    Anyway I enjoyed a quiet bumble around the shop,  and I'd been careful going round;  only a couple of 'goodies' had 'fallen' into the trolley.   A pleasant trip indeed.

The scenic route via Kellie is out just now;  and will be until the petrol prices start to tumble down.  Could be a while before I use the scenic route again!   Having said that, I seen on the News that the Pakistan Peace talks could be 'on' again in few days:  let's hope they do restart and lead to 'Peace in the Middle East.    Anyway I got back to Ivy and put the messages away, before sitting down to a well earned 'morning coffee':  then out to'The Hutte' .   I was in a 'working mood,

I forgot to mention that I took a chance and put a a wee washing before going to 'The Store'.   The weather forecast wasn't that good, but with the mixed weather we're having just now,  I take any chance I can.    As it was the washing dried before the light shower of rain we did get in the middle of the afternoon.   I was in 'The Hutte' and saw the first spots hit the window, so rescued aforementioned washing.

After the busy day I've had, tomorrow might need to be a rest day.   Obviously the cold is wearing off
but I did have a long siesta in after lunch.;  and I'm tired now.  I'll see how I feel in the morning.   "Sunny intervals and a fresh breeze "is forecast for KY9;  it could be a good drying day!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
