Nearly Sunny ....

9th April 2025 (Wednesday)     08.45 .... It's a lovely morning;  not quite a wall to wall blue sky yet

but that should come.   There is a gentle Easterly breeze, and a bit of mist and low cloud at present.   I have a downie cover to hang out, on what should be a good drying day..... low cloud, or haar.... not welcome!   Bring on the sunshine!

20.00    It has been a nice enough day. but the cloud took a long time to move away, so the sun didn't break through properly until 13.00... and there has been a chilly breeze.   I brought the washing in half an hour ago and we have a lovely evening, albeit chilly.  Tomorrow is forecast to be sunny.... but there's going to be a change of wind direction , with the wind veering to the WSW overnight.

On the way to Leven this morning, I went to Colinsburgh to fuel up the car;  and found the garage busy. When I think about it the roads were busier than they usually are, with cars coming in to the East Neuk mostly;  and busier roads = busier garage.   Anyway I fed the car and had a canny journey to Leven:  we were behind a camper van doing a steady 35 -40 mph so nae hassle this morning.

I arrived at Alice's well ready for a cuppa;  which we had.   Barbara (one of Alice's neighbours) came in with jam tarts, just before we went shopping.   The bucket men were on their rounds, the 'Kingdom' men cutting the grass;  all was good in Methil this morning.

Sainsbury's was busy (everywhere is busy nowadays) but the checkouts were running smoothly, so shopping was a pleasure.  That said .... I forgot to buy Horlicks; was one of the things I wanted.    And still do!    Back at Alice's we had a cuppa , then Alice made lunch (ham and egg pie) followed by a new Alice sweet.   I'd say that today's sweet was better than 'Bills ' (Lewes, Sunny Sussex) Eton Mess.

22.30    I've just been watching President Trump on the News, answering questions, from reporters, in the Oval Office..   Watching him answering .... I thought  "how did he became President of the US of A?"    It's like living in some kind of nightmare:  or watching the worst film ever made!   

I have an appointment for a blood test tomorrow at 09.30;  and have Derek coming down to paint the

gable.   I'd better get off to bed;  busy day tomorrow!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
