Cloudy ....

20th April 2025 (Sunday)     07.45 .... It's cloudy just now, with a chilly Easterly breeze:  sunny

intervals are forecast, but the air will feel chilly (out in the open) all day, even in the sun.   I haven't been out on the bike out yet;  to be honest, with the air being chilly, I'm not that keen to go out just now.   I'm feeling bright enough;  it's the East wind that's the problem.   Another cuppa! .... that's what I need.

15.30    The sun burned the early morrrrrrning cloud off and we've enjoyed a bonnie Easter Sunday, albeit a cool one when exposed to the Easterly wind.
I biked up to Chapel Green before morrrrrning coffee:  it was busy.   There was a group of people doing, what I took to be 'Yoga' in the North East corner of the green;  so that direction was 'out' as far as the camera went.  However I pointed the camera in other directions to get Easter Sunday photos for the Alberto Archive. 

I should have taken a flask of coffee with me and had that on Maggie's Memorial Seat.   At that time the breeze, though from the East, was 'light' with very little wind chill, so it was pleasantly warm.   I was well enough wrapped up.   On the way up I noticed that the back tyre was in need of a wee bit more  pressure.  I went back to Ivy to fix that, then biked up to the Pony Field to get a few more Easter Sunday photos, before going back home for Morning Coffee ..... sorting out the photographs I'd taken.

The wind has freshened since this morning, and is now annoyingly chilly.   If it moderates I might go out again (on the bike) in the evening.    I've been putting garden stuff in the bin for tomorrow (Broon).   I'll do some more 'gardening', then find a place to take the bin so that it can be emptied. 

The air is warm enough just now to have a coffee sitting at the patio table;  if the chilly wind isn't swirling around too much. 



19.00    Easter Sunday has been the best day, as far as the weather goes, this holiday weekend.   The wind has been chilly but I was out before it freshened so I'm a 'happy' boy.   The wind is brisk at the moment so I won't be going out biking this evening:  I might get out early tomorrow morning.
I've discovered that the wind doesn't swirl around the south east corner of the patio (sometimes called the 'romantic corner') .... and where the table and chairs are now.   And I had my afternoon cuppa in the warm afternoon sunshine.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
