Cloudy ....

5th April 2025 (Saturday)    08.45 .... There's a brisk Easterly wind and the sky is overcast and it's

cauld!  The sun is trying to breakthrough, and 'sunny intervals are forecast',;  at least it will be sunny, but never very warm, especially when exposed to the wind off the North Sea.   (I have a feeling that the bike won't be out today).  At the moment I'm going to have breakfast;  I'll then do some 'ooverin' and dustin', and see what the weather is like ..... after morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrning coffee.

19.30    It has been a mostly cloudy (and cold) day;  in fact it was one of the 'stay in and stay warm' days for me.    Oh ... I went out to the garden and pottered about; including hanging out a washing;  and took a few more photos of the flowers.   But I didn't go anywhere... even in the car because of the cold air.  I have never liked East winds;  they're good for drying washing, but they also dry my delicate, freckly, skin.   Havin' said all that, tomorrow is forecast to be "sunny with a gentle Easterly breeze"... so I may chance going up to Chapel Green on the bike.   Then again this is the East Coast and the breeze, though gentle, will still be cool. 

Being indoors most of the time I have done 'ousework, so it hasn't been a wasted day.  I always like to do something, though at times, what used to be an easy job, can be hard work.  The easiest of all jobs nowadays is .... switching on the kettle! 

Work is going on apace at Flat No 3;  I can only see what's happening on the roof, but there's a lot of hammering and banging going on internally.  I'll need to have a daunder up Ferry Road to take a photo of the North elevation, for the Alberto Archive.   It's hard work being 'me'.... it has been today anyway!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
