Sunny ....

3rd April 2025 (Thursday)     08.30 .... Another 'wall to wall' blue sky this morning;  but, there's a

cool Easterly breeze so it will feel cold on the lugs when biking!   I might go out when I get back from Leven and Methil, but it depends on how warm it is.... and how breezy!    The temperature is 8.2C just now but that's not what it will feel like on the beach!

17.00    It has been (still is) another lovely sunny day again;  sadly the onshore Easterly wind meant it was cold on the beach.    That said it is great having a few sunny days in succession:  and it's warm on the patio, which is sheltered from this wind direction.

As per plan I went along to visit Alice, but we didn't do any shopping.   Instead, after a cuppa and a Canadian biscuit, we went to Methil High Street to browse the Jack Vettraino exhibition, in the 'Affordable Arts' gallery, in Methil High Street.     I was surprised at how many pictures he painted.   Anyway, prints of his originals are there, for sale, along with lots of other Jack Vettraino merchandise.   Alice and I went at what we though would be a quiet time, but it was surprisingly.    From 'Affordable Arts' we went to the Wellesley Church Hall for lunch, then back to Alice's for coffee before I set off for home... planning to go out on the bike.

20.00   I didn't do very much at Ivy.  I had my afternoon siesta and woke up with a migraine.   End of biking plan!    I wasn't too disappointed as the wind had freshened and it was cold.   I brought in the washing, took a couple of pills and settled down in front of the TV.

The 'News' has been all about the Trump tariffs;  not surprising really.    I don't understand how a single individual can cause complete mayhem all over the world with the stroke of a pen.   However that is how it is and we'll have to get used to it.   Of course, we still have the haggling to come.    Some might call it 'blackmail'!    It's the Americans that I feel for, because they are the ones that will pay most for all this in the end;  though prices will rise all over the World.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
