Cloudy ....

23rd April 2025 (Wednesday)     I'll begin by wishing all my English friends a "Happy St George's Day" .... enjoy Your day.

09.30 .... We have a grey start to Wednesday, but "sunny intervals with a moderate Easterly breeze" is

forecast, so it should begin to brighten up soon.   I almost slept in again this morning, but I dragged the auld bones oot o' bed, at 07.00 and had a long hot shower.

I might bike up to Chapel Green at some point , but only if the weather is brighter and warmer..... and I could go round to the 19th to have lunch with the girls, but I'm not ready for a big lunch, so I'll pass on that.   This is going to be a rest day.

09.45   Happy News;  Emily (granddaughter) phoned to tell me that she is pregnant.    A playmate for Henry is due in the Autumn.   I'm a happy Great Grandad".

15.45   Haar started to come in from the North Sea in the afternoon, and the temperature dropped, so I didn't go out anywhere.   Being warm in the 'romantic corner', I had a cuppa, and a goodie, out there instead.  As my rest days go this has been one of the best:  I've been bone idle.   The weather has been nice enough but the Easterly breeze was too cold for me going up to Chapel Green.   I'm going to make another cuppa, and settle down in front of the TV and have a cat-nap.

19.00    The haar has come in and blocked out the sun so we have a chilly air.   I haven't been anywhere, and won't be going anywhere now.   I've had a lazy day;  and it has been enjoyable doing, more or less nothing really.   It was pleasant sitting out having my cuppa(s) on the patio:  I really appreciate 'Rural Developments' reinstating the back garden with a patio.   And handrail they  put in place, that gets me up to the top bit of the garden;  I couldn't co without it!   I'm a happy bunny tonight.

Tomorrow's weather is going to be much the same as today's;  "sunny intervals with a moderate Easterly breeze".   That means I'm confined to barracks.   This East wind does not agree with me at all;  but I might go up to Kinneuchar in the car.

22.30    The World has come to terms with the Pope dying so soon after being out on Easter Sunday;

that was a real shock.   Actually when you think about it now he was saying "Goodbye" to his flock... and the World when he was going round St Peter's Square in the 'Pope Mobile.'    I watched the BBC coverage from Rome this morning.   The photograph is from the BBC News Channel.
