Nice morning ....

13th April 2025 (Sunday)     10.30 .... It's a nice morning, but there's more clouds about and it's

breezier and the air is chilly.   I've done a small washing which I'll hang out after this update:  Precipitation isn't mentioned in the weather forecast so the washing should dry.  Iain is still sorting out the shed, and 'The Hutte'!   Me? .... I've got a cold so will be lying low for a couple of days.... and won't be going out on the bike today.

19.45   Iain has been a busy boy;  and, in my way, I have been a busy boy too!   Iain 'serviced' my old bike so that 'JB' (or even Dad) could use it when up here;  that was a job needing done.   Iain also tidied up the shed;  my job now is to tidy up 'The Hutte':  this I will do, a wee bit at a time, dumping any mathoms I find.   Of which there will be many!   We still haven't found the 'safe place' with the collie solar lamp patio light!   It is one of those places that I'll find accidentally.   I still think it may be in 'The Hutte'.  The very fact that they are 'mathoms' means I don't want to throw them out!  It's hard work being 'me'.

I haven't been much use today because I'm nursing a cold;  the next couple of days are going to be, "rest

and shake off this cold"  days.   I'll have a 'Janice toddie' before going to bed!   The washing dried;  it has been a lovely sunny day but the breeze was cooler;  mostly because it was breezier!

It's good to have the 'Glenfuir' Union flag flying again;  the last one destroyed by the strong winds.   When I see the Union flag I know the wind is for a Westerly direction;  when I can't see it, it means the wind is from the Easterly direction:  or there's no wind at all!   I still have my flagpole to put up, after all the work that was done.

There's a chance of 'light showers' tomorrow;  which isn't surprising, because it is April!   Showers usually means an interesting sky;  but annoying if they are here ... and not "over there"!   "Over there" can be anywhere... as long as they aren't "here".   I'll probably sit in The Hutte, sorting out some of the stuff that needs sorting!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
