Nice morning ....

8th April 2025 (Tuesday)     09.00 .... We had a layer of thick cloud first thing this morning, but,

thankfully, is being replaced by a blue sky .... and sunshine!   There is a gentle breeze from the ENE so it won't feel nearly as cold as it did yesterday:  but.... we are not far from the North Sea and low cloud could drift in now and again.   Younger brother Derek is coming to cut in the gable today.... so it's 'big flap on' at Ivy today.

20.30   Derek  has 'cut in' ready for the roller later in the week.   I have to admit that it's slightly frustrating not being able to paint my own house gable;  but it's sort of enjoyable watching someone else do it!   I'l potter around with the wee bit at the back;  it doesn't involve ladder work.

It has been another lovely sunny day;  although we did get a short spell of haar (as opposed to low cloud) coming in from the North Sea, in the middle of the afternoon.   It didn't last long, but I was having my afternoon cuppa outside when it happened, and noticed the quick drop in temperature when the haar blocked out the sun.

I've was down to the harbour twice this morning;  the first time at 07.30 when I went to the cash point.  The second time was about 11.30 when I went to pick up the walking stick that I'd left there earlier.   I very rarely take the car to the harbour during the day, because it can be tricky getting back up to the High Street again when the harbour area is busy.

I've had busy day getting stuff ready for Derek and making the tea at break time.   Today made me realise my limitations;  and made me feel older.   And I don't mean just a day older.

22.30    Tomorrow is gong to be a 'rest day':  in fact I'll go to Leven and Methil.   Methil to pick up Alice  before we go shopping in Leven (after we have a cuppa).  Then we're going back to Alice's for lunch;  which includes a 'new'  Alice sweet!   More about that tomorrow!

I'm tired tonight so I must have done some work.   Tomorrow is going to be another nice day:  but it's
to be 'sunny intervals' rather than wall to wall sunshine.   And cool exposed to the ENE breeze.

If you look closely at the bottom  left of the yacht race signal mast (bottom photo)  you can see the reason why I had to go down to the harbour twice this morning!
