Sunny ....
7th April 2025 (Monday) 08.00 .... It's sunny after an early frost, but already the temperature is
above freezing, and there's only a light breeze so we should have a nice day ahead. The intention was to go to the harbour at 07.00 but when I saw the car windscreen I changed my mind; the car windscreen was iced over, and I wasn't in a windscreen scraping the mood! I'll get the bike out and have a run up to Chapel Green, and 'roond the Ferrie', then charge the battery; after an early morning coffee.15.00 Having been up to Chapel Green to discharge the bike battery, the battery is now being charged. I might go for a slightly longer run the next time I'm out.
There was a lot of people wandering' about when I was at Chapel Green; I thought they'd been dropped from a 'Rabbie's Tour' bus. Actually, I've just remembered.... this is the start of the Easter holiday weeks... which explains why the villages are busy.
It's a lovely, wall to wall blue sky day, but there is a chilly breeze off the sea. A light windcheater jacket sorts that out.... and it was warm sitting on Euan's Seat.
19.30 It was actually warm enough for me to have my afternoon coffee out on the patio.... sheltered from the cool breeze. In fact, of the chair had been more comfortable I'd have fallen asleep! 13.9 was the highest the thermometer, but it is in the shade; I was basking in warm sunshine!
The bike battery is fully charged which means I could go for a slightly longer run on Wednesday. The temperature is supposed to rise in the middle if the week, but if we get that breeze off the North Sea it could spoil things. Derek phoned to say he was coming to paint the gable tomorrow; it's certainly perfect weather for painting.
