Cloudy but dry ....
19th April 2025 (Saturday) 08.30 .... At the moment the, mostly cloudy sky, is showing signs of
breaking up to give us sunny spells; which are mentioned in today's weather forecast. Unfortunately there's a moderate ENE breeze, so it's always going to feel cold out in the open. I very much doubt if I'll be biking today: a short walk, once the temperature rises, is more likely. Temperature? ..... it's forecast to be a maximum of 9C today. Precipitation is not mentioned.15.30 The forecast maximum temperature for today is a bit out as far as the back garden goes; the patio thermometer (in the shade) is showing 15.5C just now. That said, the breeze is swirling around so it is actually too cold to have my afternoon coffee outside. ... and I won't be going out on the bike this afternoon. I had been thinking of getting the bike out.
I did go for a short walk after morning coffee; up to the golf course (it was busy), then home by Rotten Row. The wind had moderated at that time, and the air wasn't as cold as I expected it to be. The breeze has freshened since I was out, and it feels cold again. I imagine it will be cold on the beach; I'm not going down to find out! Actually I might have a daunder down to Ferry Corner and up the High Street .... after I have a cuppa.
19.30 It's a lovely evening but there's chilly air so I cancelled the planned walk up the High Street: I fixed the gate instead. It had swollen with the damp weather over the winter so got the plane out and took a wee bit off it. I might need to do some more again tomorrow, but it will do for tonight.
I've enjoyed myself today; but would have enjoyed myself even more if the air hadn't been so chilly.
Tomorrow is going to be less windy, though still from the East or ..."aff the watter".; and therefore cool. I might get out early, before the streets are busy, before the early morning breeze freshens. High tide is at 08.00 so I'll try to go out then; even if it's only as far as Chapel Green.
