Light cloud ....

28th April 2025 (Monday)    09.00 .... When I was in the shower I decided that I'd prepare for

the incoming 'mini heat wave', and wear a thinner, summertime' togs.   My first visit to the pavement changed that 'plan';   the breeze (Westerly) is not of a mini heat wave variety;  it's chilly... no... it's cauld!   However, the air will warm up quickly, once the sun burns off the cloud.  If the wind freshens, windchill might be the problem.

20.30    It has been a bonnie, warm, Spring day.   I thought the temperature might have reached 20C today but not quite;  19.9C was the maximum.   That said there was hardly any breeze in the middle of the day, and we had a  spell of 'mauchless' air.  I was bothered by 'mauchless air' in New Zealand now and again.    'Mauchless air' is when the air is hot, not moving, and there's less oxygen in the hot air.   I increase my water intake.... and have a siesta.

At the end of the afternoon I got the bike out went up to Chapel Green;  by that time there was a moderate breeze, with loads of fresh air.   'The Ferry 'is quiet er again, but there are still a few holiday makers wander around.

I'm enjoying this warm weather, and hoping that it lasts for while.    All I'll do is change to a warm weather 'plan'.    That's much the same as the cold weather 'plan'.... but wearing fewer layers o' claes, and drinking mair watter.

22.00    The 'Plan' for tomorrow?   The weather forecast is "sunny with a gentle SW breeze", so I expect the temperature to reach 20C in the back garden.   I know that I expected it to do that today, and was disappointed.   It's to be sunnier tomorrow so it could even be higher than 20C.   I'm thinking sun cream  .... (and the parasol for the patio table) .... might have to be unearthed.
Anyway lets get back to the 'plan'.    I intend going out on the bike early to discharge the battery, then charge it, so that I can go up to Kinneuchar later in the afternoon.   Of course this all depends on how warm it actually is in the afternoon.   We're supposed to have a moderate breeze, so there shouldn't be much in the way of  'mauchless air'  Wednesday and Thursday are going to be the warmest days this week, according to Sean Batty.  Who is never wrong!
I enjoyed getting out of the bike again, and hoping the sun won't be hidden by early morning cloud.
Alice is making a rice pudding tomorrow, so I might (depending on how hot it is) to drive to Leven to annoy her.  She is bound to be needing annoying by now.   Alice lives in a quiet little corner of Methil with a lot of friendly neighbours.  A bit like Earlsferry in that respect.... but not quite as photogenic.  We live in one beautiful corner of Mother Earth.

Jackie (Auchnagatt) is 'confined to the house' with a broken ankle and is  depending on Iain's cooking.   Luckily he is good at preparing food etc..... and has even adapted to using the Hoover.   (It's actually a Dyson).   I think she will have the plaster on for six weeks;  but I imagine she will still be able to work (Environmental Scientist) from home, but won't be 'out in the field' for some time:   and, this is the time of year she would normally be out!   I'm hoping she is able to play her guitar!   Jackie is a keen Classical guitar player, and practices every evening.
