Overcast with light rain ....
14th April 2025 (Monday) 08.50 .... It's a quiet damp kind of morning; in fact we have light
rain!.... which is a bit of a change from the sunny days we've been enjoying. Actually the light rain is welcome, because it means I won't have to water the tubs. It doesn't take much to make me a happy 'boy'. That said, I don't think the holiday makers will be overly happy with the dampness. I'm sort of hoping that the sky will clear to April showers; that would have given us a bonnier sky for the camera.... but the forecast isn't good. Not that I'm going anywhere; this is a 'rest' day.16.30 I had to go up to Elie to hand in my prescription: I thought the Chemist would be Closed on Friday and Monday over the Easter weekend, but they are going to be 'Open' on Friday. There's only one item on the prescription I need before Tuesday, and that has been taken care of. I didn't go to the harbour, but took the Balbuthie Kinneuchar road home, to give the car a run.... and to get a few photos for the 'blog'.
The weather has been bright at times, but the light rain was never far away; but we did have a few short sunny spells in the morning. The afternoon has been mostly grey and wet. I had a migraine early in the afternoon so haven't done very much. I watched the rocket launch taking a crew of six females into space, including Katy Perry, who is apparently the most famous female to do the trip. I'd never even heard of her .... until this morning! It was an 11 minute trip (there and back) into the the edge of space, where they could experience weightlessness for a minute or so before strapping themselves into their seats for the return journey. Exciting stuff, and they all seemed to enjoy the experience.
I've taken pills for the migraine so have been sluggish all afternoon: I hope to find something good to watch on the TV in the evening. Not that it matters what it is; I'll probably fall asleep anyway. If I watch something three or four times I eventually see the whole of it! It will be an early night in bed for me tonight.
This change of weather has upset the auld 'fernie tickles'; they were enjoying the sun. They need a
long spell o' sunny weather to get them looking their best.... and it's 'early days' yet. I'm expecting a long hot summer!22.30 I've been watching the BBC 'Lena Zavaroni' story : about her rapid rise to fame as life as a child star, and her eventual battle with anorexia and depression. Really good but awfie sad. That is why I am later in going to bed than intended.
