Bright and breezy ....
11th April 2025 (Friday) 08.00 .... We have a lovely Spring morning; there's a bit of mist just
now but the sun should shift that, to leave us with a 'wall to wall' blue sky, and warm sunny day. There's a light breeze (SW) but it shouldn't be too bothersome. It's a good drying day for painting the gable.
20.00 This 'boy' is a tired boy after a busy day! Derek arrived just after 09.00 and set about painting the gable. This is the first time the gable has been painted with a roller, so Ivy Cottage has been 'rolled' into the modern world. It's also the first time the gable wasn't painted at the crack o' dawn, in the month of June.! I never thought I'd reach the stage when I couldn't paint Ivy Cottage myself. That said, the gable does involve extended ladder work and I am not good with heights now. Anyway it is done now, and I quite enjoyed watching Derek doing it. And .... I have to admit that the roller is much faster than the brush! No wonder I'm a tired boy!
Iain arrived at 17.15 ish, just as I the mince and tautties were ready to plate. We had our dinner caught up with each others 'News', and went out to admire the patio flowers. Iain found greenfly on one of the plants, and got rid of them.
It has been a lovely Spring day (almost summer like sitting in the sun), but there was a cool breeze. The temperature got up to 17.5C at one point.
Iain and I have a'plan' for tomorrow; we're looking for a 2024 Christmas present that I put in a safe place because the workmen were in the garden; and my 'safe places' are many.... and very safe!
