Nice, peaceful morning ....

29th April 2025 (Tuesday)     07.15 .... Today and tomorrow are forecast to be the warmest days

18th fairway.
for us;  I feel confident that the thermometer will reach 20C sometime this afternoon.     I'm biking up to the Pony Field after this update, to discharge the bike battery;  and take a few photographs.   I'll then charge the battery for a longer run on the bike later in the afternoon.   It's a lovely quiet start to Tuesday.... and it's going to be sunny with a light SW breeze, so a warm day ahead.

11.15    We have a lovely, almost summer like morning, after an early morning mist and thin high cloud.   There's only a light breeze, so it could be hot in the afternoon;  the thermometer is reading 16.2C at the moment.The bike battery is now being charged.... after I enjoyed a run up to the Pony Field the on to Chapel Green earlier in the morning.   I saw a few early morning dog walkers, but no joggers.   Anyway I got a batch of photographs to 'play' with;  something to do if the air does turn 'mauchless'.   Then again I might just have a long siesta.   That is one thing about Ivy;  it's cool on hot days.   A bit like a cave!

20.30     This has been one gorgeous Spring day:  Spring? .... it felt and looked more like Summer.   The thermometer got up to 20.8C;  then,  I was looking for it to reach 21C.   Unfortunately the breeze freshened and cooled the air.    It also kept the 'mauchless' at bay, so, after another cuppa I biked up to Kinneuchar.

It was good to feel the wind round my lugs, and being able to stop wherever I wanted.   Yes... I enjoyed being out again.    Mind you I need a couple of weeks of this weather to get my legs  used to biking again.

22.00    While having a cuppa outside I noticed that I have a nest of Tree bumbles bees under the tiles.  This is the fourth or could be fifth year that I have had them.   The species, Bombus Hyporum, only arrived in the UK in 2003 (Wiltshire)n and have spread rapidly.   When the nest is at it's busiest the males can be seen 'hovering' and 'dancing' around the nest entrance.    I'm happy that they have settled into Ivy;  Maggie liked Bumble Bees!    I get rid of Wasp nests as soon as I spot them.

It's going to be another sunny, and warm, day tomorrow so I'll get up early and bike to the harbour;

North Lodge - Elie Estate.
and pick up a paper while passing!    Tomorrow is going to be our warmest day;  it's to be slightly cooler from Thursday.   Just when I was getting back into biking.   Actually I might wrap up warm, and try to keep biking.
