Nice morning .... .....

7th June 2024 (Friday)   07.40 .... There's a lot of cloud about, moving over on a moderate SW


breeze, with rain showers mentioned in the weather forecast for KY9;  but in between the showers we'll have sunny spells.   An interesting day ahead.   I'm going to be pottering around Ivy most of the day, but will take 'time out' to circumnavigate 'The Ferry',    Must 'go' .... slight 'Flap On':  tomorrow is 'JB' Day.

10.00   Ye Gods; duvets have a life of their own.   If you put a lead on a duvet, you could take it for a walk.... and; it would probably chase a ball.   I have a 'plan' .... and it disnae involve a lead!   Apart from the duvet, good progress is being made. The duvet cover is in the washing machine; and will be hung out after this wee spell of rain passes over. It goes into a drawer under the bed.   Happy me.   I think I'll have another cuppa before wrestling the duvet into submission ....and well tied up with string!

15.00    The showery spell didn't last that long and the wind has freshened so we now have a good 'drying day':  the duvet cover is near enough dry and will be brought in, to be ironed and put away after this update.  Shower clouds are still around but so far we've been lucky.    The duvet?.... I think it took itsel for a walk!


18.00   It has been a good drying day and the duvet cover is well dry;  in spite of getting entangled on the washing line.   It has been ironed (just a dicht with a warm iron) and is dangling in front of  a radiator.   The central heating has fired up again with this cauld spell. 

Both 'JB' and I have beds.... but, I think it would take a 'Woman's Touch' to de-mancave Ivy Cottage properly.   I'll run round wi' the 'oover after this update!.... Maggie was always 'ooverin' and dustin' so that must be the secret!

22.30   I 'ran roond wi' the 'oover' but, although the bedroom looks fine, it lacks that the 'female' touch.  The bed looks comfortable!    I think 'Gromit'  will take up residence before 'JB'!

I watched the seven party representative's, in the BBC Debate this evening:  it was actually quite interesting.   We have people that could run the country properly.... unfortunately they are in different Party's.... and  unlikely to agree.   Havin' said that... we could end up with a 'hung' Parliament.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... I must have been tired after Solid infrastructure at Pittenweem swimming pool. my wand

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
