Beautiful morrrrrrrrrning .....

15th June 2024 (Saturday)    08.45 .... We have a sunny and warm morning;  one of those balmy,

peaceful mornings that make me think of 'summer'.   There's a light breeze, with a few clouds scattered around.... more like the weather we should be getting at this time of year.  Unfortunately, 'Light showers' are forecast for the afternoon.  There could be interesting clouds. 

17.00   It has been a beautiful day .... and a perfect drying day!  I'm a happy boy because the washing got a couple of extra rinses yesterday and I left it out overnight, planning to spin it this morning but I forgot;  however I've been lucky.... and it's dry!


'JB' went out to West Bay with the camera this morning:  and, after a cuppa we louped intae the car and had a run to the harbour.  There was much activity at the 'arbour with both the skiffs out.... and  the Water-sports Centre getting organised, for what I imagine will have been  a busy day.   From Elie we went to Crail and moored up near the Hen's Ladder entrance.   We didn't go down to the harbour;  but I
got some photographs from the top of the HL.  Our next port of call was going to be the entrance to the road to Largoward just north side of Dunino;  however I'd got my roads mixed up (not for the first time);  we were on the coast road and that does not go to Dunino;  so we ended up in St Andrews.   We drove into haar just after leaving Crail  and that was with us near enough all the way to St Andrews.  The haar wasn't going very far inland and we drove out of it just after Morrison's roundabout.




23.00    Tomorrow we're going to Morrison's (St Andrews) to do a shopping and have lunch in the Café. The shopping is going be of the bulky variety, to cover the period when Ferry Road is closed to traffic for repairs to a broken drain at electricity sub station, and other work on the Ferry Road.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
