Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out

Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree!

overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days.

20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying to keep their prices down.   For instance dishwasher tablets, normally £13 were being sold for £6.93.   I have a dishwasher, and though I only use it now and again I need the tablets;  and they are usually at the 'rip off' price.  Back at Alice's we were having lunch, when it occurred to me that the 'bargain' price (£6.93), that I paid today, would still include something like £2 profit!   'Rip- Off' Britain right enough.  I feel a major moan coming on!.... but not about todays bargain!

I enjoyed my trip to Methil and Leven.   Sainsbury's was busy as were the roads around that bit 'o Leven.   The roads were busy on the way home, mostly with traffic coming out of the East Neuk.   Our wee villages villages will be back to 'normal' on Monday.   Although that depends on what the weather brings!

Me in the Kilbrackmont tree.
Back at Ivy, with the messages where the should be, and a cuppa at hand, I settled down to watch the start of President Carter's 6 day State Funeral.   I didn't fall asleep because I wanted to see, and hear, a bell, standing outside the Family Farm doing 39 'dings'.  He was the 39th President.   He was a peace loving, caring, family man, kind of \President, and the bell was more appropriate than 39 bangs from a field gun.

23.10   I didn't take any photographs today;  hence the two of Shona and me at Kilbrackmont.   That was in 2018.
