Bright and breezy.....

3rd June 2024 (Monday)    08.00 .... Ferry Road looks like it has been abandoned this morning; 


absolutely empty, apart from my car, and nothing nothing happening;  not a single jogger, dog walker.... or 'Road Works' signs.  I'm wondering if politicians are canvassing Elie and Earlsferry today?   

I didn't go out on the bike early, but if both villages are as quiet as Ferry Road, I won't have a problem with traffic.  It's a beautiful morrrrrrrrning....'bright and sunny' with a Westerly breeze.   A perfect drying day.

15.00     It is a perfect drying/play day, and I have taken advantage of that and have a downie cover on the line.... and went up to Colinsburgh on the bike.   More or less the same journey as yesterday but in the opposite direction.   I'm still trying to shake off the after effects of that bug I had in March;  hoping that exercising in the sunshine will do the trick.  Tomorrow will be a 'rest day';  they are as important as 'exercise' days. 

'South Lodge' - Balcarres Estate.

 Right now I'm going to have a cuppa before siesta time.... then bike up to Chapel Green  to see what's 'appening up at that end of the 'toon'.

19.30 .... The biking is catching up with me;   the siesta lasted over an hour!   I made a cuppa to get me alert enough to do something.   I'd just finished the cuppa when Bob came round for a chat.   Bob did his National Service in Cyprus (Royal Artillery), based in Larnaca.   We  reminisced about our NS, then sorted out the  world, sitting in the sun out on the patio!   I must bring the patio chairs out.... they are old but might do short term.   In the meantime I am using a couple of folding chairs that Maggie bought, for when we went on picnics.



22.15   My face feels like it's had a touch of the sun;  I really will have to use the sun cream if this sunny weather stays with us.   The forecast is for it to be cooler with showers  and sunny spells over the next few days.  Being in need of a 'rest' day I'm only going as far as Chapel Green tomorrow on the bike tomorrow.   An easy day organising the bed for 'JB' seems a reasonable 'plan' :  one with numerous tea breaks.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
