Overcast ...

25th September 2026 (Friday)     09.45 ....  We've had some light rain overnight, but that has
moved away to leave us with an overcast sky;  a sky that is already showing promising signs of breaking up.   We should have sunny spells by morning coffee time.   That would,be handy because the downie cover is ready to go out on the line.

I have some computer stuff to do;  so that is the main 'plan' for today.   However I am also going to have a walk with the 'hurdy gurdy';  hopefully as far as the beach this time.  

17.45    I set off for a short walk late in the afternoon.  I'd spent 2 hours in The Hutte doing a Soduko, and reading the Times book, about the history of trains, that Michael gave me... and... while keeping an eye on the weather!   The downie cover was on the line and some of the clouds were threatening looking.   A couple of times a few spits ans spots hit the Hutte window so I brought the downie;  for a about three minutes both times!    That said I enjoyed  a relaxing couple of hours;  and the downie cover is dry.

Ferry Road has been busy today;  apparently it's a Glasgow holiday weekend.    I'll be busy in Ivy anyway so won't bother anyone.    There's a big ironing I need to do, I think Sunday will be the best day for ironing;  there's a chance of rain!   Tomorrow? ..... I'd best get up early to take a couple of photographs;  I might even go as far as the beach.   Morning time is the best time for me.

22.30    I'm tired tonight;  right enough I ended up going to bed late last night, and I have been doing the washing.  Tomorrow will be a 'rest day' .   Got plenty easy jobs to do.   Anyway it's off to bed early tonight!    Might get up early and go for a short walk.    I'm looking forward to getting a lightweight ;Rollator' that will fit in the car boot.   That will be next weekend when Iain is here.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
