Overcast with squally showers .....

23rd September 2026 (Wednesday)    Autumnal Equinox     09.00 .... My word..... that was one

wild squall that hit us at 06.30;  it woke me up, and  that was without my hearing aids.    I saw one flash of lightning about 06.50.   Anyway the sky is much brighter now, and I'm hoping that the heaviest squally rain showers have moved on.   The sky is brightening up from the West so we should have sunny spells by 10.30;  that's when I have my appointment at the Surgery!   

12.00    My appointment with Jennifer went perfectly.   The new inhaler is doing it's job:  in fact I am getting one of them to carry around instead of the Blue inhaler.    I'm a happy boy.

The top photo is my first skein of geese this Autumn;  as is usual with geese, I heard them before I actually saw them.  Geese aren't sneaky birds, they let us know they are around.  

16.45     After the wild start to the day we have had a lovely sunny intervals day;  since 10.30 in fact!   I came home by way of the Balbuthie  road, hence the photographs of Kinneuchar kirk.    That road is needing fixed at the Farm entrance;  after the water leak, that's causing the problem, is repaired.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
