Nice morning ....

9th September 2026 (Wednesday)     09.15 ..... Maggie and I were married on this date 65 years
ago;  today is our Blue Sapphire Wedding Anniversary.    "Happy Anniwersary Maggie".....    I'll have another cuppa to celebrate after this update!

We have a lovely morning, a mix of sunny intervals and fluffy clouds;  with a cool Northerly breeze at the moment.    The breeze is going to back to the SW later.

18.30     The main Car Park at Brewesterwells Crematorium was 'Full' when I arrived, so I was directed to the Staff Car park behind the building.    A huge turnout for a popular and much loved lady was what I, and everyone expected.     I hadn't expected to one of the last to actually arrive at the Crematorium:  I was well organised by 11.45, so decided to have a cuppa before leaving Ivy at 12.30.   All I had to do was put my tie on and I was ready to 'go'!    That cuppa was my undoing.   I fell drifted of to sleep, and woke up just before 12.30.    'Major Flap on'.   A quick splash of cold water woke me up;   got the tie 'on'.... and was in Kinneuchar, on my way to Brewesterwells by 12.40!

It was a lovely Celebration of Life Service, with different generations of the Family telling us about Joyce's  Life.   And an active life it was;  working, golfing and even taking time out' to do 4 Munro's!... and an Invitation to a Royal Garden Party, with Davie her husband;  for her work with the Girl Guides.    'Love' was the overwhelming feeling at Joyce's Celebration of Life Service:   she was  loved  by everyone, and will be really missed by family and friends.

I didn't go to the after Service  gathering at the Golf Club;   I went home and sat in The Hutte with a cuppa.  I didn't fall asleep!    Strangely enough, although there was sadness today;  the fact that Joyce led such an interesting and active life made this literally the Celebration of a Life well lived'.   We'll still miss her!

Michael is coming up from 'Sunny Sussex' on  Saturday;   this means I will run roond wi' the 'oover
sometime between now and Saturday!    He arrives in Leven Station between 15.00 and 16.00.   Och... loads o' time!     I think I might thought that today!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
