Bright and breezy ....

8th September 2026 (Tuesday)     09.15 .... We have a nice morning here in KY9;   but strong
winds with heavy rain showers are forecast to come our way by midday.    I'm organised for my trip to Methil, to annoy Alice,  and have my hearing aids services.    I need another cuppa before I set off.

19.45    In can hardly believe the difference new tubes make to the hearing aids;  they are ' good as new again'.    They have been 'rough' for the past couple of weeks.    Anyway that's them until January.   

After all the action at Methil Library, Alice and then had a wee bit of retail therapy at B & M's;  I found (and bought) a tin of 'Spam', something I haven't had since Maggie died.   It will be an interesting 'new' taste.   That reminds me;  tomorrow would have been, in fact is,  our 65th Wedding Anniversary.   How time flies.   Back to B & M's;   Alice was looking for a frame, for a diamond art picture she has done, but they didn't have the right size.   Not only did I buy the 'Spam' I bought a sketch pad and a few other, vitally needed,  'bits and pieces'.   B & M's is a good shop for all sort of things.

The weather has been fine most of the day;  but it has been breezy.   The wind has moderated in the past hour or two, and we have clouds moving over;  we might catch a shower.   Tomorrow is forecast to be a  quieter day, a lighter westerly breeze, and sunny spells.

I have Joyce's funeral, celebration of life service, at Brewesterwells Crematorium tomorrow at 13.00.  Joyce wants bright and cheerful togs;  so I'll wear normal clothes, with the  Wallace and Gromit tie.... and brown shoes.    I'm staying away from black altogether.   Actually I think I might be coming down with a cold;   and if I'm coughing and spluttering tomorrow, at 13.00, I'll just stay at home and sit in The Hutte.   I don't like spreading colds around.    However, I'll have a 'JT' tonight and see how I am in the morning.

22.30    The wind has died down, and all is quiet in Ferry Road..    It's bedtime;  I had a Lemsip a wee
while ago, and hope to feel 'brighter eyed and bushier tailed' in the morning.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
