Nice morning ....

29th September 2026 (Tuesday)     09.00 ....  It's a nice morning, but there's a change of wind
direction with a cool breeze from the SE.    A nice morning for doing the Coastal Path.    I'm going Methil and Leven;  via Elie, to pick up a prescription.    A new inhaler to replace the 'Blue' one.

19.30     This has been a busy day.    I went to Methil, via Elie (Chemist), then  Colinsburgh to fuel up the car, and on  to Methil to annoy Alice, before going to Sainsbury's.   We had a successful shopping mission!    I hope the voters in the USA come to their sensed at the mid term elections;  the World can't take much more of this President of the United States!    That moan was brought on by the price of fuel;  it cost me £42 this morning, and I only use the car now and again.    No runs to Crail or anything like that now!  The World is holding it's breath and hoping for the right result in the USA Mid Term elections in November! Not that is will make much difference now;  it's going to take a while for the World to recover from the mess made by the present Administration in the USA!    Moan over.... and I'm a happy boy!

The car has been tidied up and is ready for the MOT;  hopefully it will pass but I'm stocked up with food, and can do without the car until Friday.

 Andy Burnham's speech to the Labour Party Conference  was popular with the Party faithful in Liverpool.   He is a good orator and the delegates 'loved' him.   He covered a lot of ground, and gave them what they wanted to hear.   He is even going to  tackle 'Welfare' by changing the the Pension Triple Lock to stop pensions (and presumably Welfare) rising as fast as it  can do under the Triple Lock System.    That said;  having paid into the pension pot for 50 years, I don't regard the State Pension as a 'benefit!  It's something we pensioners worked  hard for;   and paid for!.... our State Pension!   However I'm happy for the change, if is going to help with the 'care' problems.     Because that is  needing sorted.    

22.30     I'd better get off to bed:  I have to take the car to Mercury Motors round about 09.00.   Myra
is going to bring me home from Mercury.    The car mission will be my 'work' for tomorrow!

The weather is going to be of the wet kind in the morning, so I don't think I'll be having a short walk!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
