Cloudy .....

1st September 2026 (Tuesday)     09.30 .... We have light cloud at the moment, but light rain,with
the chance of sunny spells is the forecast for KY9 today.   There's a moderate breeze from the WSW but it isn't cold.   I'm ready to go to Methil, but I don't need to go shopping.   I'm going to defrost the freezer before I do a 'big' shopping.   As a matter of interest;  this is the first day of Meteorological Autumn.

20.00     The roads were busy when I went to Leven and Methil this morning;  but nor as busy as they were in the afternoon on my way home.    There was more or lass a continual line of holiday traffic travelling West wards;  my side of the road was quiet.   

At Alice HQ we had a cuppa and goodie before going across to visit Alice's friend Barbara.   Barbara  fell a few weeks ago and broke her arm.  She is well on the mend though still unsure about going out to the shops etc.

Karen (Alice's daughter) had invited Alice and I to join her and Lucas (Karen's son) for lunch at 'Agenda',   Which is what we did after visiting Barbara.   'Agenda' was quiet when went in, but it began to get busy;  though Tuesday is probably the quietest day of the week for lunches etc.

I arrived home just as a light shower of rain came over (it had been raining, on and off all the way  home), but it never came to very much.


Myra phoned to tell me that the Friendship Lunch is tomorrow;  this will be the first one after the summer break.   I plan on going, but that depends on whether anyone is coming to see, me.   I had the Community Alarm bloke turn up yesterday;  and could have some other person tomorrow.    Anyway I'm going to home Myra and let her know  what's happening!    I don't imagine anyone will turn up at lunch time anyway. 

I'd planned on doing a washing tomorrow but I'll have to check the weather forecast in the morning.    Ithought is was goin to be dry most of the day, but having looked at the forecast we could have light showers.   There;s to be a light breeze from the Westerly direction at first;  but backing towards the East by lunchtime.    i'm not keen on Easterly winds.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
