Light rain .....

2nd September 2026 (Wednesday)    09.45 .... We have a 'dreich' kind of morning;  an overcast
sky with light rain drifting in, on an Easterly breeze, off the North Sea.   Not a morning for doing the Coastal Walk!    I was thinking positive earlier, and  actually have small washing going through the machine;  it won't be going out on the line today.    That said we could have some brighter weather (perhaps even a sunny spell) now and again, most likely in the afternoon.

20.00    Apart from a brighter, and drier, spell in the middle of the day the weather has been disappointing, being mostly overcast with light rain.   I didn't go out today; not even to the Friendship Lunch, and I was looking forward to that.  I must say that the new inhaler does improve my breathing, there's no doubt about that.   It will take a couple of weeks before I really know how good it is;  which fits in perfectly with the appointment Jennifer (Asthma Nurse) made for the 23rd.

I watched PM's Questions;  and was impressed by how Andy Burnham coped.   And I believe that when he says "I understand";  he really does understand.    Kemi Badenoch? .... she was her usual sarcastic self.... so nothing new there.   It was an interesting clash of differing views.

The two 'Main' wars continue to rumble long;  drones and bombs killing people, with someone keeping the score.   Sometime, hopefully before we blunder into WWIII, someone might come up with the idea that actual Peace is good!

The natural disaster in Nepal/Tibet is now at the 'recovery' stage.   The chances of finding anyone alive
now would be a miracle' indeed!   The Rescue Teams are now looking for the bodies of those swept away in the torrent or buried under all that mud and debris.   It must be totally heart breaking for those that have survived, but have lost loved ones to, what is now a 'river' again.   

Today's photographs are all courtesy the BBC News Channel.   Had I been fit I would have gone to see the Bayeux Tapestry;  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that a ticket (Adult) is only £25;  Tickets from September 10th to December 31st (2026) are 'Sold Out'.  The Tapestry is on display until July 11th (2027).

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
