Nice morning ....

24th September 2026 (Thursday)     09.45 .... There are some light fluffy clouds around just now,
but the sun is working on that, and we should have good sunny intervals throughout the day.    The air (SW) is a wee bit cooler;  but that is easily taken care of  with a heavier jersey and woolly hat!   It's a washing day! 

11.45    I've had a short walk as far as the Toon Hall, so today's photographs are ....today's.    I met Sandie (Bishop) out with her dog;  another friendly 'new local' to look forward to meeting when I go out.   The new inhaler is definitely helping my breathing!    

I was using Jimmy's 'hurdy gurdy' (walking aid with wheels);  a useful piece of kit because it has a seat;  but I need a new, lighter weight one, that will fit into the car boot.   The washing is on the line, so I'm now having a well earned 'morning coffee'!

19.30     I enjoyed my short walk this morning;  but I'm going online to browse lightweight, easy fold,  'hurdy gurdies'.   I'll find out the correct name for them first!   In fact I'll do that after this update!

It has been another good drying day;  and tomorrow looks like being another one.    I only have the downie cover to wash so I hope to get it done tomorrow.   We're forecast to get some light rain overnight, but it should move away by mid morning;  to give us another lovely, mostly sunny, day.


That short walk I did this morning?    I don't think I would have been able to do it without the new inhaler.    Shona, (Kinneuchar) has the pink inhaler (which is the one I now have) and she said it was excellent;  and I have to agree with her:  it is excellent.   I must admit I am impressed with, my 'new' Asthma Nurse, Jennifer.

Michael found Rollators (that's what the walking aids are called), and Care Co in Kirkcaldy have them.


  I have to go and check that the one I want is light weight, and folds so that it would fit easily into the car boot.    Ian is coming down on the 2nd October so we'll go to Kirkcaldy on Saturday the 3rd.

I enjoyed taking my photographs this morning;  when get the rollator, I should get 'out and about' much more.   I never realised just what a difference the new inhaler would make!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
