Windy and cold.....

12th October 2024 (Saturday)    08.30 .... there's a lot of cloud around with short spells of

sunshine.   At the moment it's dry, but light rain is forecast, and it's cold in the fresh SW wind.   Not a morning for being exposed to the wind.    I'm going to Leven to buy light bulbs, and a few bits and pieces that I forgot yesterday..... then up to Methil to annoy Alice.    There's work going on at the Scoonie roundabout area all next week so going to Leven will be tricky.   'Slight Flap On' .... I'm showered, and vertical (wi' claes on)  .... now I need breakfast.

19.45   The 'light rain' turned into heavy rain  on my way to Leven, but, by the time I left Alice's  the sun was breaking through and we ended up with  sunny with heavy showers.   That made for some really interesting clouds so I went to the beach later in the afternoon.   It has been cold all day which, and it's going to be cold tonight;  down to nearly freezing in some parts of the UK.

I feel that things are back to normal after visiting Alice today.   I caught up with all the local news.  Alice made us a braw lunch followed by early afternoon coffee;  and mair chatting before driving home.    As ever nowadays the roads were busy.   It's good to be driving again, but I don't think I'll ever get used to the number of vehicles on the roads.   I shouldn't complain because I'm one of them!   

22.00     Who was the silly boy that was a day late in puttin out his bucket this week?   Yep ... it was Alberto!  I'd been thinking that yesterday was Thursday all day.   Anyway it doesn't matter because the bucket was only a third full.   It's the Green bucket on Monday so that will go out on Sunday night.

Tomorrow is going to be another cold day but sunnier with fewer showers.   It's going to be a relaxing day for me;  staying warm and pottering around Ivy.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Overcast with light rain .....

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
