Sunny .....

14th October 2024 (Monday)    08.15 ...."Sunny with a light breeze" is our weather for today!

That said, there's a thin film of ice on the car windscreen;  however, once the sun is higher the air will be warm and clear the windscreen.   It's going to be a lovely autumn day.... and should be warm, especially when sheltered from the light SW breeze. 

20.30     My word, this has been one beautiful, sunny and warm, day;  a string o' them would give us an Indian Summer!     I went down to Nana's Seat in the afternoon and sat and enjoyed the warm sun.   The beach was busy, with holiday makers (I think this must be half term), walking dogs, jogging.... or just walking the beach.   It was a big beach as the tide was well out.   I nearly fell asleep.   I wondered why the bay was quiet, then realised that boats had been 'craned out' at the weekend.  I only saw three boats on the Firth all the time I was down there.  About an hour.

In the morning I went to Methil to visit Alice and go shopping to finish topping up my food cupboards.    Alice had to go to the chemist to pick up a prescription, so we did that before going to Sainsbury's, where I got all the bits and pieces I required to top up the cupboards.   A successful couple of missions.

By the time we got back to HQ it was nearly lunch time.   Lunch was easily sorted;  Alice had been making Scotch Broth so we had a bowl, of that;  followed by rice pudding.   Nae wrinkles on 'puku' (Maori for stomach) after that!   I'm going to make Scotch Broth on Wednesday (bad weather forecast for that day), the ingredients for which I bought today.

We relaxed with a cup o' coffee after lunch before I set off for home.   As ever the roads were busy, with the roadworks at Scoonie roundabout being a nuisance.    It's only for one week.

Tomorrow morning I have blood test at Elie surgery.... and must remember to pick up a prescription from the Chemist.    Tomorrow afternoon will be spent 'pottering around Ivy.   It's going to be another nice day but the forecast is "sunny intervals with a moderate breeze from the Southeast".   Sunny intervals suggests there will be  more clouds around.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Overcast with light rain .....

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
