Bright and breezy ....

22nd October 2024 (Tuesday)    09.15 .... I woke up thinkin' that I'd missed the Autumn clock

change at the weekend, but it's next weekend that the clocks change.  (I have been known to miss a clock change and work on Ivy Cottage time for a few days).   After a good night's rest I'm feeling 'almost playful'.... mind you, an extra hour's sleep would have been welcome.

We have a lovely morning and the forecast is good;  "sunny with a fresh Southerly breeze";  an excellent drying day!    I need to go to Ainster (Skeith Centre) in the afternoon to pick up bits and pieces;  apart from that, and a run up to Elie to get a haircut appointment (and pick up a paper) I'll have another quiet day in and around Ivy.

14.00    I've been busy.   I did a washing, went for the paper (forgot the paper);  went to make an appointment to have my haircut.... and I was lucky, Lorraine  had  a space at midday so I've had my haircut.   Which is why I forgot the paper!   Back home, I phoned the Skeith Nurses, and I am now waiting for a reply from them... sometime this afternoon hopefully.    In the meantime I shall make an afternoon coffee, then settle down in front of the tele and.... fall asleep.

Hens Ladder - Crail.
21.00    After a short afternoon nap I went to the Skeith Centre to pickup the bits I need, then, feeling adventurous, I went to Crail and home by way of the 'back road' to Highham Toll.   That's a countryside run, especially at this time of year with the trees  in their Autumn colours.     I wanted to stop with the camera but couldn't see a place to safely stop.   I've done this route many times on the bike so have photographed it, but not in Autumn.     I enjoyed being out for a decent length of run in the car;  the first time I've done that since the MOT.   As I normally do when in Crail I stop at the lay-by near the top of the Hen's Ladder, then walk to the seat at the top of it and take a few photos.   Normally I'd go down to the harbour but the water wasn't smooth so no reflections.    I love Crail harbour with the houses reflected in it.   In fact I like all harbours best when the water is like a mirror.  Either that or with big waves crashing onto, and over the piers.
