| It's breezy! |
but it's dry just now. Rain and strong winds are forecast. I'll go for the paper when it's quiet; but won't go to the harbour .... it will be too windy down there. The wind is to freshen up to F8 - 9 by the evening, then begin to moderate from 22.00. It's going to be a breezy old day. I'm having another cuppa before I go for the paper.10.45 When I went for the paper(s) the rain was intermittent so I was able to take photographs; but the wind has freshened and the rain is heavy (as per forecast) so we have a bleak kind of day now. The rain should slacken off soon but the wind will continue to freshen. I'm glad that I took advantage of the quieter weather!
When I got back to Ivy I decided to take a walk to the beach. Oh ... for some completely unknown reason, this morning my breathing is the best it has been for months; just shows how much the weather affects asthmatics. Most often in a bad way but in a good way (for me) today! Yes... I'm a happy boy! Now where was I? Oh aye... I went to the beach. Unsurprisingly it was windier down there, but not that cold.... and I was well wrapped up. As you'd expect on a morning like this, the beach was quiet apart from a couple of dog walkers enjoying the fresh air.
I bought two Sunday papers today because this could be a reading day; that said, having been to the beach, I'll probably have a long catnap in the afternoon. Anyway I have papers to read, and things to do on the computer. A busy day ahead. I'll begin by having morrrrrrning coffee! 21.00 Welll.... it has been a funny old day. Windy and wet in the morning, windy and sunny in the afternoon, and now mostly windy though there is the occasional rainy squall. The wind was from the SE in the morning then veered to the West.... and the sun came out! And the wind freshened with the rising tide. Interest day of weather.
The wind has been up to F9 out on the water, but more like F6 - 7 at Ivy: it started to moderate in the last hour, and will continue to moderate slowly overnight; but it's still going to be windy through the night, and tomorrow.... but not as bad as it was today. It has been a good day for what I have been doing. I had a major success with making rice pudding. I've always wanted to make it with Carnation Milk in it but could never get it quite right: today I did! Happy happy me! However the 'thing' that has made me really happy has been my breathing; it has been back at how it was before COVID. I haven't a 'kloo' as to why this has happened, but it will be interesting to see how it is tomorrow. "Strong winds (SW) with sunny intervals" is the weather forecast.
Today I went to the beach... twice. The first time after I came home from the paper shop, the secondtime in the afternoon when it was sunny, and I fancied sitting on Nana's seat to enjoy the sun! Funnily enough it was actually quite warm sitting there because it is sheltered by the bents. And I didn't have to use the blue inhaler when I was out; in fact I haven't used the blue inhaler since first thing this morning! I was surprised to see a wind surfer on the water.... and staying upright. All the time I watched him he was always above it .... never in it!
