Mostly cloudy ....
24th October 2024 (Thursday) 09.00 .... We have a lot of friendly looking clouds this morning,
and I am looking forward to a day of, "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze", as is forecast. And, I'm vertical (well nearly vertical), got my claes on, and almost ready for lunch at 'The Rockies', with the troops. When I think about the 'sunny intervals' forecast for today; yesterday's forecast mentioned 'sunny intervals' and they were AWOL.We had a bonnie sky at sunrise time, interesting and colourful clouds etc. The photo was taken from the front gate; I'd just got out of the shower, and wasn't dressed for the beach!
19.30 The Rockies restaurant was quiet today; but there was a big funeral party in Members Clubroom so overall it was extremely busy. Lunch was excellent with a good choice. We all had something different for the main course, with me having 'Fish 'n chips' as per usual. I seriously thought of having the liver, but I like 'proper' fish 'n chips when it's available. It was all very enjoyable. I didn't rake the camera with me because I knew it was going to be windy in the Rockies car park.
Pete Murray was the funeral Director, assisted by young Pete and a lassie. I hadn't seen Pete for a long time but managed to chat to him for a wee while.... and also to young Pete on the way out. It was good seeing the two Pete's again, after such along time.
George does the driving leaving the three of us to browse the scenery. A very pleasant journey, and couple of hours.
Back at Ivy I made a mug o' coffee, the promptly fell sound asleep for an hour and quarter. I'd only taken one sip of the coffee before falling asleep, so I bunged it in the microwave to heat up and had that (with a chocolate biccie, before going for a run up to the Toft in the car to take some photographs.
The villages looks like a proper holiday place now with folks wandering about all over the place. All were well wrapped p against the cold air. The sky was mostly cloudy by this time, but there were breaks; enough of them to make an interesting sky. There was a flock of Redshank feeding: the light was fading so not the best for a picture, but I'm happy enough with what I got. This has been an enjoyable, but cooler than expected, day for me.
22.30 Iain is coming down tomorrow. He's coming straight from his work (Aberdeen) so should
arrive about 17.30. That means I can 'play' for most of the day. "Light cloud with a gentle breeze from the East" is forecast; hmmm.... I'm not keen on winds off the East. I'll get up early and see how the weather is. Migrating Redshank.
This is the 'clock change' weekend; that means an extra hour in bed on Sunday!
