Nice morning

4th October 2024 (Friday)     08.45 .... It's a nice morning but there's a frisky, and chilly, breeze;

however, once the sun is higher it should be warmer.    I might feel brave and  have morrrrrrning coffee outside.... the patio is sheltered and should be warm.  

Iain told me that the Amazon delivery should happen today.... but he didn't have a time.   I don't think I'll be far from the door today;  not until the wind moderates a bit anyway.   And the garage is going to let me know if my car is ready to uplift, if so I might have that to do, so a busy day ahead.  

21.00    I didn't get the car back as they are waiting for a bit to be delivered so it hasn't been as busy a day as  expected.   (I should get it back on Monday or Tuesday).   The 'day' has been busy, but not in the way I expected:   I've been 'planning' the adaption of the shed to keep a mobility scooter in.  The shed will be the same to look at, except there will be a door on the end of it.  We're not in a hurry to get the scooter, but I need to get out and about the villages to take the photographs that I'd normally get when out on the bike!

Luckily I went down to the beach with the camera, when the sky was 'brighter', before morning coffee time. The cloud thickened and it has been dull for the rest of the day.   In fact was had a shower o' rain at 14.00. but it didn't last long.   There's a chance of light rain overnight and first thing tomorrow.   That means it will be afternoon photographs tomorrow.

22.00    There's a change on with the weather.... I have a migraine!    This is the best time to have one, if you are going to have a migraine, because you usually have a good nights sleep and waken up feeling great in the morning.    I've taken the pills and will get off to bed with my book after this update, and a look at the 'News:  which is about the war in the Middle East mostly.   War is an indication of the poor quality of politician around,  willing to talk about peace.   That said somebody is making a lot of money supplying the weaponry to keep the wars going.  When you think about it.... if we are the only planet with life on it in the Universe, and we are busy destroying it;  that doesn't say much for so called 'intelligent' life does it!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
