Bright and breezy morning ....

21st October 2024 (Monday)     07.45 .... After a wild night we have a bright and breezy

morning.  Although still windy it's only F5 - 6;  which is nothing compared to the last 14 hours or so.   "Strong winds (SW) with sunny intervals" is the weather forecast for KY9.   And there's a chance of light showers in the middle of the day.   At the moment it looks like being a computer day for me.

16.15  It's a bonnie day, but cooler than I expected;  there is a frisky breeze right enough, and it's warm sheltered from the breeze.  I lost some sleep last night with something tolling about on the patio;  not all the time but often enough or me to have a long nap after lunch!   I felt better after that;  like wide awake.  I had a cuppa then decided to go to Colinsburgh to put some fuel the car;  and have a run though Balcarres to see how the autumn colours are.

Balcarres was quiet, and the trees are looking bonnie but I really need to get on the bike to enjoy it.  With the bike I can stop anywhere to take photographs.  Anyway I stopped at two of the parking places that I use when in the car.  Normally when in the car, I don't go into the Estate during the working week;  on the bike I can go all over the Estate.

20.30   I am glad that there's nae wind tonight; I should get a decent night's sleep!  The big flower tub that was rolling around now and again, has been turned upside down and stuck in a corner!   Tonight I hope to sleep right through until breakfast time!   I seriously thought of going out in the middle of the night to sort it out....but  it was raining at the time.

I managed to get some work done on the computer, but, being honest.... this has really been a lazy day.  It has also been a bonnie day and I enjoyed the run up to Colinsburgh.... and especially Balcarres: I only wish I'd been less tired, and able to enjoy it more!

The villages are busy with holiday makers just now;  it must be different 'Mid Term' time holidays that makes October into a 'holiday month'.   It's good seeing the villages busy but it can be strange going out and not meeting anyone you know.   Almost  as if it's actually me that's on holiday.  That said I speak to plenty folk, and find them interesting and friendly.   Maggie's Seat at Chapel Green is the best place for me to meet, and chat to folk.... but I haven't been able to get up there for a while.  I am really really missing the bike!    Must 'go'...Flap on now I'm going to make my bedtime mug o' Horlicks.   It's an early night in bed for this boy tonight.
