Damp morning ....

28th October 2024 (Monday)    08.30 .... Although it's misty and gloomy looking just now, some

of the Fife Weather cams are showing patches of blue;  however our weather forecast is 'light cloud with a gentle breeze (W)' and there's a chance of light rain.... not very promising.   Having said that, it's a peaceful morning, and 'Blob' was twittering atop the Rowan tree earlier;  and I'm hoping for  brighter weather to drift our way; aye, even a sunny spell or two.    I won't be doing much in the garden because everything is wet.

20.30    We ended up with a bonnie spell of weather in the middle of the day;  but it clouded over and it has been raining, although it has stopped.   The forecast for to morrow is good;  "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze from the West".

I went for the paper after breakfast;  it was still grey at that time but the sky was showing signs of breaking up.   From the 'paper shop' I went to the harbour, it was quiet, with only a man fishing off the rocks.  He had caught two small fish not big enough to keep.   He was enjoying just being there.... and it wasn't cold.   By this time the sun was breaking through and we had the makings of a bonnie morning.    Because the sun had broken through I decided to go to Sr Minnin's harbour, which I haven't visited for a few months.

The St Minnins yachts are on the middle pier for the winter, so I moored up the car and had a walk out on the middle pier. It was a wee bit busier than Elie with a couple of men working on their yachts.;  but no sign of any fishermen.   A number of people were walking along Mid Shore, and there was a couple at the end of the East pier.   I photographed my way to the end of the pier and did the same on the way back.   I have a lot of photos to play with.   I came home from St Minnins by way of Balbuthie Loan and Kinneuchar.

Tomorrow I intend washing the big bedroom bedding;  tomorrow is not going to be a brilliant 'drying day', but it's not going to be raining, and there's a gentle breeze so sheets should dry if I get them out early.   As long as they are dry enough to iron and hang in front of the radiator they'll be fine.  I make the bed up with  the other pair of sheets that are hanging in front of the radiator just now!   Emily, John, Henry and  'JB' are coming up at the beginning of November and JB is staying with me.
