Breaking cloud .....

Image
5th October 2024 (Saturday)     09.00 .... It's a quiet morning..... the only noise I heard when I first went out as 'Blob' twittering away on top of the Rowan tree.   The Hedge sparrow was scuttling around picking up  Digestive biscuit crumb, but it is a quiet bird at this time of year.   Just now sky is mostly cloudy,  but it's breaking up cloud so we will have sunny intervals fairly soon: there's a light Southerly breeze so it should be reasonably warm  today.   I'll have a wander somewhere after the sun breaks through. 19.30  I went down to the beach for my walk in the sunshine.   As you can see from the photograph it has been a beautiful day.... and warm.   I don't know how warm the water was because we haven't had a good summer to warm it up, but I didn't hear ant screamin' when the swimmers went in.   I was sittin' on John and Jenny's seat so would have heard it! The 'pedals' that Iain ordered from Amazon arrived today, an

Nice morning

4th October 2024 (Friday)     08.45 .... It's a nice morning but there's a frisky, and chilly, breeze;  Siward Lane however, once the sun is higher it should be warmer.    I might feel brave and  have morrrrrrning coffee outside.... the patio is sheltered and should be warm.   Iain told me that the Amazon delivery should happen today.... but he didn't have a time.   I don't think I'll be far from the door today;  not until the wind moderates a bit anyway.   And the garage is going to let me know if my car is ready to uplift, if so I might have that to do, so a busy day ahead.   21.00    I didn't get the car back as they are waiting for a bit to be delivered so it hasn't been as busy a day as  expected.   (I should get it back on Monday or Tuesday).   The 'day' has been busy, but not in the way I expected:   I've been 'planning' the adaption of the shed to keep a mobility scooter in.  The shed will be the same to look at, except there wil

Beautiful morrrrrrrrrrning .....

3rd October 2024 (Thursday)    10.30 ....  We have a cracker of an Autumn morning, and  the poem  'To Autumn' by John Keats says it all so I have put it at the bottom of today's page. I had a short walk down to Ferry Corner to take a few misty photos before the sun gets going, and lifts the mist.   It's a lovely morning for walking....  and 'working'!   I don't have 'plan'  but can't go too far from Ivy because I'm waiting for the 'exercise pedals' to be delivered.   Must 'go'... slight flap on;  it's nearly morning coffee time! 16.00    I decided that we had to have a change of scene this afternoon, so wandered up to the seat at the 17th green, then to the  Pony Field, and finally to the seat at the 3rd tee (Ladies). With the 'hurdy gurdy' being hard work over grass I didn't us it, I just took my time and enjoyed the warm sunshine.   The golf course was busy, as you'd expect on a day like today.  After bl

2nd October 2024 (Wednesday)     09.00 ....We have fluffy white clouds this morning.... and 'fluffy white clouds' are friendly clouds so I will go out for a daunder later today.    The wind is coming from the East, so it's not as warm as it should be, but it's a drying day.  It's almost 'all go' at Ivy this morning.... I'm vertical and the kettle is 'on'. 16.00   It has been a lovely day... and not as cold as I thought it might be, so I went for short walk with the 'hurdy gurdy' .   It's fine on a hard surface but heavy work on grass; but it does making walking easier.... and there's the seat to sit on if  I go for a longer walk. I got a shock when I looked at the time... nearly four o'clock!   The time has rocketed past today and I  don't seem to have done anything.   Right enough I did two washings... and ate stuff, plus had a short walk, but that couldn't have used up nearly a whole day!   I'm going to have aft

Cold NE wind .....

1st October 2024 (Tuesday)    09.30 .... This mature person won't be straying far from the door today.  Why?..... because we have a frisky, and cold, NE wind!   However, sunny intervals are forecast with the chance of showers by morning coffee time, but always going to feel cold out in the open;  trust me to feel playful on a day that I can't go out.   Never mind, I'll make good progress on the computer, sorting out Folders of photographs;  that's always interesting. 20.30    It has been a nice day, in fact I meant to do a washing but forgot about that;  tomorrow is forecast to be bonnier.... and a good drying day.   Today has been a stay in and warm day;  mostly working on the computer.  One of the Folders I found was the one I made when Jackie and I biked from Backhill of Inkhorn to Newmachar via the 'Buchan Way', the old railway line from Aberdeen to Fraserburgh converted to a biking walking Way..    I remember travelling, by train, from Newmachar to Fraserb
