Heavy mist.....

1st May 2024 (Wednesday)    08.45 .... There's loads of May Day magical morning dew for washing


our faces this lovely morning;  I used the dew from the rose bush!   This means I should have a flawless complexion for another year!   I'm a happy boy.  What's the weather like?....there's a heavy mist at present, but we did have a short sunny spell when I was doing the 'morning dew' thing!   The mist is forecast to morph into 'light rain' by midday:  and I'm hoping for more sunny spells!    With the wind "aff the watter", it is not as warm as it could be.


19.00    The sunny spells I was hoping for were few and far between, but at least the light rain didn't arrive until late in the afternoon (17.00 ish).    When we left the 19th (at about 15.00)  the Western sky looked bright;  but never came our way as the weather was coming from the East.   As ever we enjoyed good food, happy banter... and caught up will all the local 'News'.
Back at Ivy I put the kettle and the tele 'on', made a cuppa and settled down to watch the snooker.... then fell asleep.    I'd had a migraine earlier and was well ready for a catnap!  I woke up, an hour and a half later.... and caught up with the snooker! 

21.00    I've been watching one of the best games of snooker ever;  Ronnie O'Sullivan v Stuart Bingham.   It's 10 - 10 at the end of the last session.   Having said that this is the best game I've ever seen;  all the games are of a high standard..... the best players in the World are taking part.

Overcast with light rain .....

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
