Cloudy ....

13th May 2024 (Monday)    08.00 .... the thunder storms bypassed last night;  the nearest lightning

strike being off Crail to the Easy and Auchtertool to the West.  The West  side of the UK got the worst of it.    The air is fresher and cleaner this morning;  actually it feels cool after the warm air of the past few days.... and I'm feeling spritelier than I did yesterday and plan to go out on the bike sometime today.    Although there's a lot of cloud just now the forecast is good...."sunny intervals and a moderate breeze" .... a good drying day!

14.15    The mist we had earlier has cleared away and we are now enjoying  a sunny and warm day.   I went out for  a short run on the bike to discharge the battery ... only up to 'Sea Tangle road' and the Pony Field.    The 'plan' is to go for another run after the battery is fully charged.

20.00    It has been a bonnie day but the sky clouded over and the  air became chilly so I didn't go out on the bike again.... and I won't be biking tomorrow because light rain is mentioned for KY9.   This spell of 'warm and sunny' weather had me thinking summer summer thoughts;  you know sun cream and shorts etc.  That reminds me; I saw an Orange Tip butterfly this morning.... and a huge flock of Swallows and House Martins yesterday, so summer is coming.... and hopefully it's going to be a good one!

I've had a rest day today... and tomorrow will be another one!   I must to learn to pace myself better when I tackle any 'jobs';  it takes days to recover when I don't do that.  I remember Jimmy having the same problem, and I didn't understand what he meant.   I do now!   The problem this time was cleaning out the wee shed etc.
Oops... there's a washing to bring in!

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
