Sunny and hot ....

9th July 2026 (Thursday)     11.00 ..... The patio thermometer was at 19C this morning (at 08.00);

and that was before patio was in the sun.  I've already had a litre of water, and a cuppa, because I have the feeling this is going to be a 'long siesta' day:  watching the Tennis and pottering around inside.   It will be too hot to sit in The Hutte.

The temporary traffic lights on Ferry Road have been moved, to cover a new site up at the phone box;  I'm assuming it's to protect workers at the Junction Box next to the phone box.

12.45    There's fresh breeze now so I am thinking of going out to 'The Hutte';  after an active morning doing housework.   The patio temperature was 22C an hour ago.   The Hutte will be comfortable with the door wide open.

15.15   The temporary traffic lights were working for about three hours, then taken away;  Ferry Road is clear, and operating smoothly.    But, there is still a protective barricade, just round the corner from Ferry Road.... on the way to Elie.

The Yellow line team have been operating with the complete machine today:  yesterday they only had the hand operated half of the machine, which had to be pushed!    That's a heavy job, so the team brought the complete machine today.

When I think of it, we marked the Craw#'s Nest car park;  by striking chalk lines, four inches apart the first time it was done; then painted by hand.    From then on they were painted with a 4" roller on the end of a long handle.   I think I'll have a cuppa and ....a biscuit!
