Bright and breezy .... (so is the weather)

30th July 2026 (Thursday)     09.20 .... we have a lovely morning;   'bright. breezy and warm'

a grand morning to be on holiday.    I'm feeling 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' this morning;  and it's a good drying day so there's a washing on the line.     The 'plan' is to go along to Methil and annoy Alice;   she has also been 'under the weather';   of course, it was wet yesterday!    Must 'go' slight 'flap on';  the 'Troops'  are coming!

17.30    I have been busy today:  but it was too hot in the afternoon for me being active.   However I worked really hard in the morning!   

Nearly forgot;  the 'Slight Flap On', of morning time, has been upgraded to 'Flap on State - Serious' now.   I will do some work after dinner.

It was 'hot' this morning ;  I was glad to get in to Sainsbury's cool areas.    The shop was quieter than usual, with no queues at the checkouts;  so a successful, and happy mission in fact.   We went back to Alice's to have lunch and coffee, before I bumbled my way back to The Royal Burgh.    Alice's garden is looking braw just now;  so I took a few flower photographs.

21.45   I'm excited tonight looking forward to Emily, John and Great Grandsons, Henry and Austen coming.   I suspect that I might feel 'auld'!   And I also suspect that to Henry , and Austen I will I will be 'auld'!   I must get a load of photographs of us together;  once they've got used to me.   

I haven't been able to do all the 'work' I wanted done;  today is the best my breathing has been for a few weeks.    I'm older than I used to be, but not as old as I'll be tomorrow!

I'd better get off to bed, because 'The Troops' are travelling overnight, and could arrive early in the morning.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
