Nice morning ....
2nd July 2026 (Thursday) 09.30 .... We have a 'bright and breezy' morning; with a mix of clouds and sunny spells coming over on a moderate WNW breeze. I'm ready for action; that means I'll be making my way to the Skeith Centre, after an early morning coffee! And possibly 'The Store' bottle bank; it all depends on which direction I take when I leave the Health Centre: I might turn right, and go to Crail for a run.
20.00 The trip to the Skeith Centre was enjoyable; but, with Bob Hanley's Garage demolished, and the house, more or less, gutted for renovation. passing the site is hard. 'Yesterday's' East Neuk will soon only be happy memories.
On leaving the Skeith Centre I made for The Store bottle bank. I didn't do any shopping as I'm still working my way through the food that Janice and Michael left. Crail?....the roads were too busy...and I imagine that the parking place I normally use, will have been discovered by holiday folk by now! I'll have a run round that way earlier in the morning .... sometime.
As is usual, when I go to The Store, I came home by way of Kellie Castle and the Colinsburgh Straight: I wanted to see how the new grain drier looks now.: and it looks more or less complete. The last time I looked I thought the gable end was going to have 'Crow Steps on it; but it doesn't. Anyway, with harvest time nigh, it would be useful to have the drier ready for action; and it looks like it could be.
It has been a lovely, sunny day, albeit with a cool NW breeze. I did the last of the ironing; and some'ooverin', and even a wee bit dustin'. All today's activities rook place before midday! After midday I 'rest' for the next three to four hours. Much of the 'rest' is actual sleep!
Today's photies: all taken from near the St Ford railway bridge. Top - Grangehill Farm, Middle and Bottom - a meadow of tauttie (potato) flowers, and, Bottom - Tauttie flowers!
