Light rain ....

26th July 2026 (Sunday)     09.00    We have light rain this morning, with sunny spells to come

our way later;  it's actually a nice quiet morning.    It's heavy rain the firefighters need in the Cairngorms, to help put the wildfires out.   In Europe some of the fires are  out of control;  they too, need really heavy rain.    This has brought back memories of a small forest fire at Crathes, in 1946.    

Meanwhile, I'm going to Methil to annoy Alice, then we'll go to Leven to so some shopping.... after I have another cuppa.

21.30     It had been a lovely day;  and the spells of heavy rain  are included!.... because flower the tubs have been well watered today!

Alice enjoyed her Coach holiday in Wales;  she made some new friends, did some touring, managed to find some shops, and generally had a good time.   We found one shop today;  Sainsbury's, where we the little amount of stuff we were needing.   The shop was quiet, which was unusual because it's normally busy on a Sunday.    We went back to Alice's and had lunch, followed by a mug o' coffee;  and a 'putting the World right' session.

Surprise surprise;  I only had one set of temporary traffic lights to contend with today;  about 300 metres from  Alice HQ, but the roads were as they are always nowadays,..... busy.  

Iain  (Auchnagatt) was telling me that they had to close all the house windows because of smoke from the Cairngorms National Park wild fires.    Aberdeen has been badly affected by the smoke.    Iain never had heavy ain today, which is what they Cairngorms need to put the wild fires out.   As does Europe!

23.00    I've had a browsing session;  a long, and enjoyable one!   Anyway today's photographs  were taken in Nyman's National Trust Garden, near Hayward's Heath in 2014..    What a place that is;  well worth a visit if you want to have a relaxing day out in 'Sunny Sussex'! 

I have no 'plan' for tomorrow;  I fancy having a really quiet day pottering around Ivy.   The weather

forecast is good, so it will probably be warm in the middle of the day.   This warm/hot weather has me sleeping longer in the afternoon;  not just a catnap!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
