Nice morning ....

13th July 2026 (Monday)      09.15 .... We have fluffy clouds meandering across the sky, giving us

sunny intervals just now:  however the sun should burn the cloud off to give us another hot day.     It is 17C on the patio at present.    There's a moderate (cool), ENE breeze;  but there's something in the air that is disagreeable (probably traffic fumes);   pollen levels are  Medium, pollution Low.   

20.00   There has been a cool breeze off the North Sea that kept the air cooler, so we've had a lovely, sunny day, albeit hot on the patio..   Taking advantage of this spell of 'drying days' weather, I did a woollen wash;  and detached a few weeds from Mother Earth.

Shona arrive about 11.30, so we made a cuppa, hen went out and sat in The Hutte,  chatting and putting the World to rights.    She had parked her car on Park Place (Elie) then went down to the beach to walk along to 'The Ferry'.   Apparently there's nothing happening in Kinneuchar, although busy with holiday folk.   As is Earlsferry (the Royal Burgh of).

I had a wander up to the phone box this morning (having put George and Dorothy's bin in their garden);  and this short walk had me contemplating a wander down to Nana's Seat.   But with the breeze off the East I decided I'd go home and have a cuppa instead.    Hardly any good comes on an easterly wind.  
I'd just finished that cuppa when Shona arrived and had another.  Need to take in plenty liquids in this weather.

 have my annual BP check at the Surgery tomorrow morning;  so it's early to bed tonight, hoping to keep the reading 'Low'.  That said;  'white coat' syndrome kicks in as soon as I see the Surgery door!
Anyway I'll take couple of readings on my own BP thing (the same kind as the Nurse uses) to see what my BP reading is at home.    I need a cuppa.... without the 'goodie' (because of the BP check tomorrow)!

21.45    I'm slowly beginning to get the hang of all the Channels on the new TV;  and the quality of
Ferry Road.
photographs I take ,off the BBC channels are outstanding.   I'm a happy bunny.  And the new phone, which was frightening at first, is starting to interest me.   It's a small computer in size, but what can be done on it is amazing.
I have a phone appointment with an ENT Doctor next Monday, and that appointment is on the mobile.   Iain and I are having a 'practice' tomorrow night to see how I get on!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
