Low cloud ....
15th July 2026 (Wednesday) 10.00 .... We have low cloud this morning, but it's not as heavy
yesterday's cloud; in fact it looks like the sun could break through by morning coffee time. This would be a welcome improvement on yesterday's 'sunny spells': if I remember correctly we only had one sunny spell yesterday, and that was late in the afternoon! My morning began with a migraine, which is a bit o' a nuisance; but I've taken the pills, and will spend today doing what I'm good at ....pottering around Ivy. The first thing I'm going to do after this update, is do a BP reading.
16.30 We have 'wall to wall' blue sky just now; I imagine the beach will be busy this afternoon, though there is a cool NE breeze. The garden thermometer was at 22,5C when I checked it 10 minutes ago. I've been sitting it The Hutte, but it's too hot now so I've put the kettle 'on' so that I can have a cuppa while doing this update. We have the England v Argentina semi final this evening; The Hutte will have to be done before 20.00.
I watch PMQ's most weeks, and today's was particularly interesting because it was Sir Keir Starmer's last Prime Minister's Questions. The main difference was watching the MP's of the different Party's, in 'friendly' mode; seeing them as... well, ... just 'normal' happy people. It's a pity our MP's couldn't run the country in that mode. In a PMQ's that had lots of nice comments, I think one of the best was made by a Conservative (Graham Stuart), when he said that; "you have been given a Red Card, by 400 dodgy Referee's".
Although it was good watching our MP's in happy mode, it was also a sad occasion: Sir Keir brought the Labour Party out of the wilderness, with a huge majority, and had, along with his team, started to get the UK back on it's feet. The New Leader of the Labour Party, and Prime Minister; has a country to run! We can only hope that he continues the good work begun by his predecessor: and that the 'dodgy referees don't have Labour Party blundering back into the Wilderness.
I have the flower tubs to water; I'll do that after this update; and while my dinner is cooking in the
oven. This had been a 'lazy' day, trying to shake off this cold. I've been sneezing a lot so take that as a good sign. I won't be able to attend George's funeral at the Brewesterwells Crematorium on Friday but will have 'quiet time' in The Hutte instead. This will be the last update today, as I have the football to watch this evening. It's hard to believe that it's 60 years since England last won the World Cup!
