Windy and wet ....
5th February 2026 (Thursday) 09.45 .... It's overcast, with a fresh wind (E) and light rain at
the moment. "Strong winds with heavy rain is the forecast" for KY9, .....with a chance of sunny spells. Even one short sunny spell would be a boost. I'm hoping to go to Leven and Methil, but that depends on how the weather develops in the next half hour or so.18.05 Morning time was the best of today's weather; the roads were almost dry driving to Leven and Methil .... in fact I enjoyed driving for a change. At times the sky looked like breaking up but that never actually happened. Alice and I had a cuppa, and a quick catch up wi' the Methil news, before going to Sainsbury's to do some shopping.
There's been a few changes in Sainsbury's; they've 'squashed' the newspaper bit to make room for a big coffee machine and a Vape counter. Vaping must be as addictive as smoking was; I hope it's healthier than smoking cigarettes. Meting Janis in Sainsbury's was a pleasant surprise; the three of us had a quick chat before going bumbling off to do the shopping. Janis , whom I haven't seen for a while, is looking bonnie as ever.
Alice had organised 'pulled pork' for lunch, so we went back to HQ to get that going, which didn't take long. It was delicious; and was followed by a raspberry dessert. While having lunch it began to rain; and has been ever since. We had a cup o' coffee before I set off the The Royal Burgh.
By the time I got going the rain was 'heavy' and became heavier the further East I went. By the time I
got to Drumeldrie it has heavy sleet and I was glad to get home. I got moored up at the gate so didn't get too wet taking the messages in. Messages packed away, the kettle 'on' and in 'nae time' I was sitting in front of the TV sound asleep. This has been a busy but happy day. It's still windy and wet; in fact it's going to be windy and wet tomorrow but not as windy, nor wet, as it is just now. I won't be going far tomorrow!
