Nice morning ....

27th February 2026 (Friday)     11.00 .... We have a beautiful, sunny morning, with a light

breeze.   A couple went down Ferry Road with their dog just now and they were well wrapped up so it must be cool!   Me? .... I slept in;  didn't get out of bed until 08.45... and I have been chasing my tail ever since.   However I have put a washing through the machine, which I'll hang out after this update.   It looks like being a good drying day.

I've seen the result of the by-election in Manchester;  both the 'big' parties must be looking forward to the local elections in May!    There could be some interesting results then.   I'm going to put the kettle 'on' (again), then hang out the washing!

14.30    The washing ws out on the line by 11.00;  that's three hours later than I intended it to be when I went to bed last night!   However,  all is looking good;  we have sunny spells and the chance of a shower, but, at the moment rhe weather is being kind and the washing drying nicely.

I've been for a run in the car, to get a few 'today' photies.    I was lucky because Spring is in the air!  The Pheasant in the top photograph was looking for a few 'girlfriends',  and there was a male Chaffinch singing his territorial, (and mating) song in the wood behind me.   It's great being able to hear birds singing again.   

It's coming up to siesta time;  I'll make a cuppa, then settle down in front of the TV.

17.30    Oh... I had a long siesta and woke up and found  a cold cup o' tea waiting to be put through the microwave.    Anyway, from what I have seen of it, This has been a lovely Spring day;  we didn't have any showers .... and my washing dried.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of  evening, with hardly a breath of wind.   I have an ironing to do but I'll do it in the evening;  right now I'm ready for food.

22.30   This has been a rest day:  tomorrow I plan to be slightly more active.   I might do the woollen wash tomorrow;  it has  been on my mind for a few days now.   The weather forecast for tomorrow looks good.   Anyway it's bedtime;  I'm planning on getting out of bed earlier tomorrow morning, than I did this morning.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
